Dropbox link lost?

Dropbox from 1st of jan 2017 has deprecated public folders
So contents remains inside a folder named public but links doesnt work
anymore

I think this is not our case: MBS dropbox folder is not a public, but a shared folder...

I think this is not our case: MBS dropbox folder is not a public, but a shared folder...

Could it be that one of the computers has been inflicted with Dropbox
ransomware? Happened to my friend's boss:

A malware program got into the boss' computer and encrypted all
documents. All that was in human-readable form was a plain text file
explaining how many Bitcoins to pay and to whom in order to get a
decryption key. While by erasing the hard drives and making a clean
install my friend was able restore the computer itself, but the
company's documents in Dropbox had "disappeared". It turned out that the
original files were renamed with random names and deleted, i.e. they
were in the trash bin in Dropbox. This happened in the last minute as
the boss had only gratis Dropbox usage plan which keeps the files in the
trash bin only 30 days. By restoring and bringing back previous version
from Dropbox version hsitory my friend managed to get the files back.

I suggest you contact all those to whom this folder has been shared
with, and ask do they have been hit.
